Competitive All-Star Dance at JLDC

JLDC has 9 Competitive Dance teams for all ages and abilities. All of our teams are split by age and/or skill level, and compete at several Regional, National and International Competitions throughout the season. No matter the skill level at which they are competing, we encourage all JLDC teams to constantly strive for continued excellence within their division. 

*All competitive Dance teams are required to partake in a minimum of 1 hour of tumbling training per week. Please click here to see our tumbling classes.*

Tiny Hip Hop – 4-6yrs
Mini Hip Hop – 7-9yrs
Youth Hip Hop (Intermediate) – 10-12yrs
Youth Hip Hop (Advanced) – 10-12yrs
Junior Hip Hop (Intermediate) – 13-15yrs
Junior Hip Hop (Advanced) – 13-15yrs
Open Hip Hop – 17 and Over
Youth Jazz – 10-12yrs
Junior Jazz – 10-12yrs

TINY HIP HOP

Tiny Hip Hop is for athletes aged 4-6yrs. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to introduce new athletes to dance and create strong dance foundations. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.  Possibly the cutest team on JLDC.

MINI HIP HOP 

Tiny Hip Hop is for athletes aged 7-9yrs. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to introduce new athletes to dance and create strong dance foundations. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.

Youth Hip Hop Intermediate is for athletes aged 10-12yrs. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to introduce new athletes to dance and create strong foundations. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.

Junior Hip Hop Intermediate is for athletes aged 13-15yrs. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to introduce new athletes to dance and create strong foundations. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.

JUNIOR HIP HOP - ADVANCED

Junior Hip Hop Advanced is for athletes aged 13-15yrs. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to further develop athletes and push them so they are ready to compete at a higher level. Within this team the coaches choose a select number of athletes to attend Team England Tryouts for the opportunity to compete for their country. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.

OPEN HIP HOP

Open Hip Hop Advanced is for athletes aged 17 and over. This class involves street dance styles performed to hip hop music and is designed to further develop athletes and push them so they are ready to compete at a higher level. It includes a wide range of styles including whacking, tutting, popping, locking, breaking, voguing, krumping.

Youth Jazz is for athletes aged 10-12yrs.. Modern jazz dance frequently influences other styles of dance such as ballet, contemporary and lyrical to mention just a few. It’s also ever-evolving as it is equally influenced by the styles of dances that it influences. Jazz is persuaded by many styles such as ballet and elements of contemporary dance, involving spins, jumps ,leaps and wow movements!

Youth Jazz train on Thursdays 6.00pm – 7.00pm.
