Jessie Leigh Metelko

Jessie is the Co-Owner and the Head Cheer and Dance Coach at JLDC. Originally from Australia, Jessie moved to the UK in 2015 to live with her Husband and Co-Owner Mark Metelko with their 2 children.

At the age of 4 she began Women’s Artistic Gymnastics and then undertook other sports such as Athletics, Cheer & Highland Dancing. This led to her competing both Nationally and Internationally.

Jessie represented Australia in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Scotland in August 2012, and in 2014 she was one of 4 Australian dancers selected to dance in the Basel Tattoo in Switzerland and after Switzerland she was one of 3 Australians selected to dance in the Edinburgh Tattoo Commonwealth team. Jessie was also accepted into the Broadway Dance Centre in New York City where she trained at a professional level for 6 months.

In 2017 she auditioned for Team England Hip Hop and in April of 2018 competed at the International Cheer Union Cheerleading World Championships placing 6th. Jessie then co-coached the Team England Hip Hop at the 2019 ICU World Championships in Florida.

She coaches the elite teams at JLDC and to date has achieved 1 x NCA Champion Title, 3 x Summit Champion Titles and 3 x All Star World Championship Titles.

This season she is excited to be a specialist choreographer in the production of Bring It On at the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth.

With over 2 decades of experience, she is looking forward to the future and achieving more prospects and goals both personally and for the academy.
